As a DimDim user for more than 4 years I am sad to see the service go! I had my share of problems but the techs were more than willing to work with me and solve or resolve the issues. So many features that were upgraded this last year and each one am inprovement. I for one am really sad to see it go! I need it!
@Renny, I agree. I've been using Dim Dim on and off for about a year. I'm dissappointed they're shutting down, but there are other options out there if you're willing to pay a monthly fee.
My 1st choice for web conferencing and screen sharing is Fuze Meeting ($29/mnth), then my 2nd choice would be GoToMeeting ($39/mnth)…both very good services.
I guess if you use SalesForce there will some bundled option within SalesForce for web conferencing now that they have acquired DimDim, but knowing SalesForce it likely will be as an additional cost to an already expensive service.
arghhhhh! I am sooooo angry. I cannot believe dimdim has been sold! Why!!! It was a brilliant offering, esp in the Free version, I loved it and so did my students. Now I'm going to have to go out and pay for a service. Never before has a corporate acquisition actually elicited anger in me before until today. I remember reading the stuff on the dimdim website about their aspirations and how they would develop into 'the' best web-conferncing service on the planet – what now? RIP http://www.dimdim.com, you will be missed
I agree it is very dissapointing. I was beginning to use DimDim.
I also heard that the bookmarking service Delicious is in transition, and possibly even in jeapardy of shutting down. I really hope not since I heavily rely on Delicious and use it everyday.
